Advantages of Water Level Indicator: 10 Unique Benefits

Water level indicator advantages

Water is one of the most important basic needs for all living beings. But unfortunately, a huge amount of water is being wasted by uncontrolled use. The water level indicator is an electrical device that controls the water level in a tank by switching its output contacts. It uses probes to sense water levels. It can be used in factories, commercial complexes, apartments, and houses where manual monitoring is difficult. Apart from saving water, the water level indicator has other advantages as well.

Advantages of Water Level Indicator

The benefits of the water level indicator are:

1. It is a unique device

The operation of the water level indicator works on the fact that water conducts electricity due to the presence of minerals within it. Thus, water in the tank can be used to close or open a circuit. This system monitors the water level of the tank and automatically switches on the motor whenever the tank is empty. The motor is switched off when the overhead tank or container is full. Here the water level of the tank is indicated on a display.

To sense the level of liquid within a tank, a float sensor is needed. This sensor senses the water level and sends signals to the indicator.

2. It saves energy and water

Before there was no system to track the water in the tank, then there came a secondary problem that is when their water pump is started, they have no idea when it gets filled as it needs to be checked. There are situations where the pump keeps on pumping water to the tank and the water starts spilling out from the tank. There is a waste of energy as well as a waste of water. To overcome this problem, using a water level indicator is the best solution.

3. It requires no human effort

Each time it might not be possible for the operator to keep an eye on the water-filling process in the tank and immediately switch the motor OFF or ON manually. If you use a water level indicator, it reduces human effort as it controls the motor automatically. This system is energy efficient, simple, and reliable.

4. It has a compact size

The size of the device is compact. It does not require so much space in the electrical panel. It is ideal for small control panels where space must be saved.

5. It is a low-cost device

It is not at all very expensive. At an affordable price, you can buy a high-quality level controller. Even you can design your controller using transistors, LEDs, relays, sensors, etc.

6. It is maintenance-free

It is an economical system that requires very little maintenance. It has no complicated circuits or delicate mechanisms. This saves additional maintenance and cleaning cost.

7. It has wide application areas

Many buildings make use of supplementary water tanks to store water that is collected from rainwater or water pumped from a well or underground. Water level indicators can be used in different sectors such as hotels, factories, homes, apartments, commercial complexes, industries, agricultural purposes, etc. It can be used to indicate fuel or oil levels in tanks or vehicles.

8. It can be used in low and high temperatures

These indicators can be used in low and high temperatures without losing functionality. Most of them operate in harsh environments.

9. It has a long lifespan

The whole system operates automatically. So, it does not need any expert person to operate it. You can use it for years, without any problem.

10. It has an alarm function

An alarm signal is available to indicate wet or dry. Some applications may demand a siren or perhaps a bell or a lamp may be more suitable.
